15th Annual Pumpkin Patch at First Congregational Church
1stcongfootball.jpg
Many hands make light work!
First Congregational Church in Saugus Center
appreciates all the community
help to unload the first shipment of pumpkins for its Annual Pumpkin Patch.
For the 15th year, the church is hosting this event which will run through Halloween.
A large group of players from Saugus Pop Warner Football, Patrick Follis from
Agganis Construction, and many other Saugus and out-of-town people, including the
very dependable Lahey family, made the unloading of the “Pumpkin Truck” happen.
Pumpkins of all sizes are displayed on the church lawn and are available for purchase
every day from 10:00 am to closing.  Volunteers are needed to fill various selling shifts.
Anyone interested in helping should contact Carolyn Davis at (781) 233-4555
“The Pumpkin Patch” looks forward to having everyone enjoy this great fall event!

astrodometurf.jpgThe world's largest zipper zipped the artificial turf together in the Houston Astrodome.
The turf came in strips 200 feet long & 14 feet wide, bristling with blades 3/8 of an inch high.
Each strip was backed with a thin layer of vinyl foam and weighed about 3,000 pounds.
The strips were cut to size and held together with zippers.
As Milner said, "It was the longest infield fly in the world."
