Join the 2018 Essex Street Farmer's Market
Inviting local farmers and other vendors to participate in our market.
Entertainers are welcome, too!
Plans are underway to bring this year's market to the public
Tuesdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm  through October 2018

Pumpkin Patch 2018 Scholarship
The deadline for applying for the scholarship is June 30.

The Danny Panico “Pumpkin Patch” Scholarship is First Congregational Church’s
way of giving back to the Saugus community for its supports of the
Annual Pumpkin Patch fundraiser every October.
Graduating high school seniors are eligible to apply for the Scholarship.  
Applicants should send a letter to the First Congregational Church
300 Central St. Saugus, MA 01906, stating something about yourself, including
high school accomplishments.

Teen Summer Reading begins Friday  June 1, 2018
Pick up book review forms at the Saugus Library Reference Desk
fill one out for each book you read over the summer.

Drop completed forms in the Red box on the Reference Desk.
Prizes will be given out at the end of the summer!


Saugus Action Volunteers for the Environment (SAVE)
announces a call for art for its first annual Rumney Marsh art exhibition
to be held at the M.E.G. Center at 54-58 Essex Street, Saugus, MA
from September 22 – 29, 2018

Entitled ACEC Rumney Marsh, the exhibit will feature art in any medium
inspired by the beauty and fragility of the Rumney Marsh Area of Critical
Environmental Concern ecosystem.
  All artists 18 years of age or older
who meet the specifications for submission may exhibit one piece of art.

Saugus Iron Works and Salem Maritime National Historic Sites
will open for the 2018 season on Sunday, May 13, 2018.

Visitor Center hours at both sites will be daily
from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm through October 31, 2018

Volunteer for a 5 minute slot to help us do a marathon reading of The Scarlett Letter.

Starting at 9:00 am on Saturday, July 7th, and running until 7:00 pm
Salem Maritime National Historic Site will be hosting “Enduring Hawthorne:
A Marathon Reading of Nathaniel Hawthorne’s The Scarlet Letter.”
With the help of volunteers we will read The Scarlet Letter from beginning to end.  
Join us from the beginning or stop by to listen as the novel progresses.


Assistance for Saugus Veterans is available.

for fixed / low-income veterans, spouses, and widows.
