Saugus Veterans Council Memorial Day Parade
Saturday  May  26, 2018  

The parade will form on Jackson Street at 9:00 am
and step off at 9:30 am
to Cliftondale Square along Lincoln Avenue
to Central Street  then onto Winter Street to the Riverside Cemetery
for a Special Ceremony at the Veterans Burial Lot.
The parade will re-form and march to Saugus Town Hall for the memorial ceremony. 
There will be a collation at American Legion Hall at noon.
The public is encouraged to attend & participate.

their lives while serving in the United States Armed Forces.

We also extend sincere appreciation to all U.S. Military Veterans and 
Active Military Personnel for their service to our country.

Pumpkin Patch 2018 Scholarship
The deadline for applying for the scholarship is June 30.

The Danny Panico “Pumpkin Patch” Scholarship is First Congregational Church’s
way of giving back to the community that supports its Annual Pumpkin Patch
fundraiser every October.
  A portion of the proceeds from the Pumpkin Patch
are used to contribute in some way to the Saugus community.
This scholarship is named after Danny Panico (pictured above), a long-time
church member
and Pumpkin Patch worker who passed away last year. 
The church is proud to honor him for his dedicated service.

Graduating high school seniors are eligible to apply for the Scholarship. 
Those wishing to apply should send a letter to the First Congregational Church
300 Central St. Saugus, MA 01906, stating something about yourself, including
high school accomplishments. 
deadline for applying for the scholarship is June 30.

The Pumpkin Patch will be open for business on September 29, 2018. 
All are welcome to participate in this annual event by helping to unload the
delivery trucks and by volunteering to staff the daily sales of pumpkins.

announces its full support of the Conservation Law Foundation and the
Town of Saugus’ Board of Health decision to appeal the recent MassDEP
decision to approve a permit for Wheelabrator Saugus to expand its ash landfill.
Under the permit, Wheelabrator Saugus would be able to uncap 39 acres
in two drainage valleys and fill them with over 500,000 tons of incinerator ash
over the next 5 to 10 years.

A “Wall of Fame” is new addition to World Series Park
to honor the generous donors who support WSP
The World Series Park “Wall of Fame” will be available
to sign up for through the 2018 baseball season. 



As a result of requests to donate to World Series Park,
a 4' X 8'  “Wall of Fame”
will be erected on the field side of the building. 
This will be a permanent plaque that will list
the names of people who make a minimum donation of $100. 
Donations may be made in honor of others or in memory of loved ones.  

Donations to WSP for inclusion on the Wall of Fame should be sent to:
World Series Park, 8 Holden Avenue, Saugus, MA 01906 
Checks should be made payable to:  World Series Park
Donations may be made through General Electric Matching Gifts Program.

Saugus Iron Works and Salem Maritime National Historic Sites
will open for the 2018 season on Sunday, May 13, 2018.

Visitor Center hours at both sites will be daily
from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm through October 31, 2018
