Saugus Trash Pick-up will be delayed one day
in observation of Thanksgiving Day
No pick-up on Thursday November 23, 2017
 
When a scheduled collection day falls on a holiday, that day’s collection and all remaining
collections for that week will be delayed one day.  Friday’s collection will be on Saturday. 
Recyclables/Trash must be curbside by 7:00 am on your scheduled trash collection day.

Annual Christmas Tree Lighting 
& Festivities at Saugus Town Hall
Friday  December 1  from 5:00 to 8:30 pm

Residents young & old are invited to Town Hall for a fun-filled evening with
sleigh rides, a petting zoo, a moon bounce, hot chocolate, cookies, a meet
and greet with Santa, entertainment, hay rides, story time, and much more.
The action-packed night will kick off at 5:00 pm sharp.
 
The tree lighting will take place at 7:00 pm
and the evening will conclude by 8:30 pm

All activities FREE for Saugus Residents!

7th Annual Christmas Tree Festival
December 2, 3, 7, 8, 9   -   from 3:00 to 8:00 pm

Community members can view the donated trees at the festival.
Raffle tickets will be sold, and each tree will find a new home at the end
of the festival.  There are dozens of Christmas trees filled with goodies,
gift cards, and lottery tickets designed and decorated by local organizations,
businesses, and families supporting the efforts of the MEG Foundation
in preserving the former Cliftondale School.  Free admission.

NPS Announces 2017-18 Winter Season Hours
for the Salem Visitor Center (2 New Liberty Street)
and Waite and Peirce (193 Derby Street)
effective November 1, 2017

Visitor Center will be open Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
and will be open on select Monday holidays
including Martin Luther King Day (1/15)
 and Presidents’ Day (2/19)

Waite and Peirce, the Eastern National sales outlet at Salem Maritime,
will be open 7 days a week from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
where the public will find visitor information as well as a unique
shopping experience tied to Salem’s history of global trade.

The grounds of Salem Maritime National Historic Site, including historic Derby Wharf,
will remain available to the public seven days a week. Visitors are invited to explore
the grounds using a self-paced audio tour available for free on our website:
https://www.nps.gov/sama/learn/photosmultimedia/audiotour.htm

Free Ranger-led tours will be offered Saturdays and Sundays
at 1:00 pm for the Custom House and at 2:30 pm for the Narbonne House.
In order to protect these historic resources, there are limits on tour sizes,
therefore reservations are required.
 
Please call (978) 740-1650 or stop by the Visitor Center (2 New Liberty St.)
on the day of your visit to make a reservation.

Friendship of Salem represents. Check the park’s website

as well as news of her anticipated return to Derby Wharf.
