RETIRED MEN’S CLUB - WHERE MEN ARE MEN
Meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month
at 9:30 am at the Saugus Senior Center
Meetings last one hour and feature a speaker of note.
We are going to continue on our once a month schedule for a while
until our guys get back from Florida.
The April meeting is scheduled for the second Tuesday of the month.
April 13th at 9:30 am at the Senior Center. Dues are still $3.00 a year.
Coffee and donuts are available.
We continue to have excellent speakers for meetings and we are currently working on getting
a special speaker for our April meeting. We are always pleased to welcome visitors.
Police Officer, Tom Gaeta and Sgt. David Gecoya were our March meeting speakers.
They made an excellent presentation on the new Crime Watch program they are introducing
to the community. Our summary observation was . . . Saugus is very fortunate to have two
such capable and dedicated police officers on the force.
”You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.”
Membership in the Retired Men’s Club continues to grow at a steady pace.
Dues are $3.00 for one year or two years for $7.00
All retired men and those who wish they were retired are invited to attend.
The main purpose of the Club is to provide good fellowship and sociability for
the retired men of our community. Just come on down.
Coffee and donuts are available. We are always pleased to welcome visitors.
“If you can’t be funny, at least be interesting.”
“What we do for ourselves dies with us:
What we do for others remains and is immortal.”
Copies of my new book,
“Where Men are Men or How to Be the King In Your Castle,”
are now available.
Dick Barry
“The day is lost in which one has not laughed.”
One of the reasons so many people come to the Senior Center and
participate in organizations such as the Retired Men’s Club is because
they enjoy the camaraderie and association with nice people. My personal
experience is that every time I enter the Senior Center, I generally receive a
warm friendly reception and everyone appears to be in a good frame of mind.
If you have a friend or relative that would like to check us out, but they are a
little nervous about coming down to an unknown group, tell them to ask for
Dick Barry and I will do my best to make them comfortable.
SPECIAL ALERT:
Seniors, spread the word. We need your help and support.
“Lord, thou knowest better than I know myself, that I am growing older
and will some day be old. Keep me from the fatal habit of thinking that I
must say something on every subject and on every occasion. Release
me from craving to straighten out everybody’s affairs. Make me
thoughtful but not moody, helpful but not bossy. With my vast store of
wisdom, it seems a pity not to use it all, but thou knowest Lord that I
want a few friends at the end.
Amen.
