toward serving their neighbors and becoming committed to worldwide sight conservation through local efforts. Leos have
the opportunity to learn and practice leadership skills and enrich
the Sauguscommunity. The Saugus Leos Club will have opportunities to create service projects while creating social
and professional connections. Members of the Leo Club are students who are committed to excellence in teamwork,
leadership and character. The college and financial aid applications of an active
Saugus Leo will include clear evidence of leadership skills and a commitment to the
well-being of their local community. “The goal of the Leo Club is to give students a chance to make a difference in their
community, individually and as part of a team,” said Marc Chapdelaine, President of the Saugus Lions Club. “The Saugus Lions are excited to provide this opportunity to students looking to become involved with their town in a unique way.”
“The Saugus Lions have always supported our youth in various ways. I think starting the
Leos Club is critical at this time when so many of our youth services are being diminished. I hope parents will encourage their kids to get involved,” said Greg Nickolas, Director of
Saugus Youth and Recreation Services.
