Last Day of School for the 2008-2009 School Year
for Saugus Public School Students
is Monday June 22, 2009
Students will follow the early release schedule:
High School 10:50 am
Middle School 11:15 am
Elementary Schools 11:50 am
The last day for Preschool and New Beginnings will be Friday June 12th.
Last day for Kindergarten will be Friday June 19th.
The Kids Come First Program's last day will be Friday June 19th.
All teaching staff will be in attendance for a full day Monday June 22nd.
Lunches will not be served that day.

The 2009-2010 School Year will begin on August 31, 2009 for teachers
and on September 1, 2009 for students.
Students and teachers will be off
Friday September 4th through Monday September 7, 2009
in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

(Wednesdays Only 8:00 am to 1:50 pm)
Belmonte Middle School - 7:55 am to 2:05 pm

Kids Come First Program at Veterans Memorial School
available to ALL Saugus elementary school students
Before and After School Program offered by Saugus Public Schools
for children enrolled in grades 1-5 in Saugus elementary schools
Children who attend other schools in Saugus are transported by school bus
from the Vets to their schools in the morning and from their schools to the
Vets in the afternoon.
Program hours are: 7:00 to 8:30 am before school
2:40 to 6:00 pm after school
The program operates on the Saugus Public School schedule. There is no
coverage on holidays, school vacations, snow days, or when school is
cancelled for any other reason.
Kids Come First offers arts and crafts, gym time, homework time, computer
time, and many other activities and events.
The program is tuition-based, and the fees have been reduced and a family
discount has been added in an effort to assist parents in this tough economy:
$10 per child per day for the morning session
$20 per child per day for the afternoon session
and $15 per child per day for each additional child per family
$25 per child per day for combo of both sessions
and $20 per child per day for each additional child per family
$15 per child per day for early release extended day

After School Program for Grades 6- 7- 8
at the Belmonte Middle School Library
Offered by the Saugus Youth & Recreation Department in
collaboration with the Belmonte Middle School.
To register, mail or drop-off registration forms and checks payable
to the Town of Saugus, to the Youth & Recreation Department at
400 Central Street. The cost is $50.00 per child.
Program dates are:
Term 1 - September 9, 2008 to November 6, 2008
on Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:10 to 5:00 pm
There will be no program on no-school days and half days.
The program includes snacks and social time, homework
and study time, and games/activity time.
All registered students must report to the Liberary by 2:10 pm
and call to report absences at (781) 231-4022.
