
The Carnival is back in town for Special Needs Students
The Sixth Annual Agganis Special Olympics
and 2011 Saugus Special Needs Festival
Held this year at Saugus High School Athletic Field
Wednesday July 13th through Sunday July 17th
Special Olympics day will take place on Saturday, July 16th
The day begins at 9:30 am with a softball tournament
of Special Olympic teams from the area.
The Saugus Special Needs students will compete in an obstacle course.
The parade of athletes and the opening ceremony will begin at 11:00 am
Eddie Palladino, announcer for Boston Celtics games, will be Master of Ceremonies.
Fiesta Shows will provide amusement rides for this five-day event.
Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights on the main-stage, under the lights, will be some great, free entertainment.
Thursday night Saugus High Quartets will have shows at 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm
Friday night 7:00 to 9:00 pm, the popular Uncle Steve Band returns for the 3rd year
Saturday night 8:00 to 10:00 pm, local band Under New Management performs.
For the second year, funds raised during the 5-day event
will go to the Saugus Public Schools Special Needs Students.
This past school year, funds raised from the 2010 event
were used for various activities including field trips and other
needs for the Special Needs students.
This event is being sponsored by Wheelabrator/Resco.
Pledges from businesses or individuals can be made prior
to the event with actual donations announced and posted at the event.
A tote board will be kept showing the current total throughout the event.
