Track & Field Fun Day

Over the course of the next couple of weeks in the elementary schools,
children will participate in grade-based track & field fun day
during gym classes/field day.

Mr. Callahan, the gym teacher and Mr. Tarantino, the track coach
will oversee this event which will feature the children running
a 50 meter sprint and doing a standing long jump.

The top boy & girl from each grade will be eligible/cordially
invited to a town-wide (all four elementary schools) competition
to be held on July 2nd at 12:00 pm
at the William L. McNeill Memorial Track & Field at Belmonte Middle School.

This program offered by the Saugus community Track Association
(S.C.T.A.) is sponsored by the Saugus Youth & Recreation Department
and will be of no cost.

The top finishers for 5th grade on July 2nd will earn a free registration
to the Saugus Sachems Summer Track Camp (regularly $160.00/$135.00) which starts on July 5th

All participants on July 2nd will receive a ribbon and refreshments will be provided.

~ We Welcome ALL Preschool age children to participate on July 2nd ~
from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm (20 minute intervals)
There will be a pre-school age 50 yard dash, bean bag toss, and standing long jump.
Ribbons will be given to ALL participants and the cost is free.
We encourage families to come down and enjoy the day!
