
Saugus Garden Club Ushers in Spring with Annual Flower Show
Saugus Garden Club
will hold its Annual Flower Show
on Saturday, March 20th
(the first day of Spring)
at the Saugus Senior Center
466 Central Street, Saugus
This show has been one of the social events
of the season for several years,
and is not to be missed.
The theme of the show is "Saugus-Someplace Special" and will include:
Design Division: Saugus Landmarks
Saugus Center - Art in Bloom, an arrangement inspired by work of art,
Route 1 - Past & Present, exhibitor's choice.
Kowloon, arrangement depicting Asian design
Prince Pizzeria, design depicting pizza
Saugus Senior Center, functional table for two
Saugus Public Library, an arrangement featuring books or book-like containers.
Horticulture Division: Saugus Scenes
Iron Works, herbs grown from seed
Historical Society, a plant over 10 years old
Breakheart Reservation, a dish garden
Hilltop, cactus, succulents or non-flowering plants
Main Street, African Violets and flowering plants
Cliftondale Square, exhibitor's choice.
Division Three: Special Exhibit
will explain the Blue Star Memorial Program.
Exhibitors are expected to bring their designs to the Senior Center
either on Saturday, March 19th from 2:30 to 5:00 pm
or Saturday, March 20th, from 8:00 to 9:00 am
Judging will occur Saturday from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon
The show will be open to the public
Saturday March 20th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm
Light refreshments will be served.
Small plants will be available for sale.
